BIS DC Singltrak-NMK American Hero, JH
(CH. Rodeo's Bull Roper, CD, JH X CH. NMK's Amiable Ultimatum, JH)

Hero started out in New Mexico as the pup no one wanted.  He quickly became a born showman, winning his first acclaim at 6 months and 2 days with a Best Puppy in Specialty Show at the GSP of Las Cruces. It took another 8 months for him to finish his show championship, with a big win at Astrohall and WD/BOS to DC NMK's Whitney v Rugerheim at the second GSPCLC Specialty.  Hero then went to live with Benny Conboy and Margaret Sylvester and to pursue a  Specials Career, and he more than achieved success, winning BIS in his second year out.  He was ranked #3 GSP for two years before he returned to New Mexico to complete his Dual Championship with Terry Chandler's expert training and handling.

When he completed his Dual on November 11, 2000, Hero became the first male BIS Dual Champion German Shorthaired Pointer since 1968.  He made us proud in the show ring as well as in the field.  Hero was a gentle soul, sweet and easy to live with, always in a good humor.  He never met a person he didn't like, never saw a mud hole he didn't want to roll in and never found a goodie on the counter he didn't try to snatch.

He was the consumate GSP, and his spirit lives on in his get and grand-get.
